how to add a V24ZA50P MOV in front of an auto module?
i have blown out two ECU fuel injector drivers, and 3 other solid state modules in my highly modified RX7. apparently due to Voltage Spikes caused by a relay missing a suppressor...
it has been suggested, that in addition to installing a proper relay, i position a MOV V24ZA50P varistor in front of each of my modules. the item looks like it should be situated on a circuitboard rather than externally in series w an 18 AWG wire (12 V).
is there a small MOV that would/could be fixtured to be external to the module and be spliced into a wire?
here's a really nice link to lots of options, i just don't know enough to find the correct item.
TVS - Varistors, MOVs | Digi-Key
might i have to make a mini circuit board?
thanks,
howard
