    Question about replacing CMOS battery

Will this work? Using a Sabertooth X58.

    Exactly what's in the picture.

I think the CR2032 is a common battery for mother boards. How come you just can't look at the old one?

Just haven't had a chance to yet lol, but seems like the best solution. Just curious if these are that common to come by. Bunch of people were saying go to Fry's, Radio Shack, etc. and I just stumbled upon it at QFC. Showed it for watches, calculators, certain remotes, but no symbol showing PCs so was just curious.

AFAIK they are all pretty much the same battery, but I'm curious as to why you think you need to replace yours? I don't think I've ever had to replace a battery on a board.

I've had to replace CMOS batteries. In fact the computer downstairs is warning me in BIOS that the battery needs to be replaced. Every time the power goes out I have to reset the time and date. If that isn't correct you can't access SSL secure sites.

I've had to replace mine in my X58 board at least once already, did so last year, I think it was KK that suggested it, I was having non stop reboot issues as if the CMOS jumper was switched the wrong way. was almost like the Bios was cleared and reset, didn't recognize my hardware or OS or settings I had before.

Turns out I replaced the Battery as he suggested and its never been a problem since. Of course I had to setup the onboard RAID again, so that my RAID array could be seen, but aside from that, it was pretty straight forward replacement, though a pain to get the old battery out, and new one in, had to remove my video cards and some cables to get at it, but it worked.

And yes those CR2032 batteries are pretty much the standard battery used in most boards these days, can pick them up almost anywhere surprisingly.

Wow! You couldn't dig up an older thread to say something as mundane as that?!

This fool is REALLY Starting to get on my nerves, I've already checked their IP with the stop forum spam link, and nothing comes up, but if I see one more pointless thread revival I think I'm deleting the posts at the very least.

Seriously, ANOTHER 3+ month old thread, and to state what was already said in the post above (as well as your initial reply to this thread) if they had bothered to read the damn thing.
