laptop motherboard keyboard connector broken -- suggestions needed to fix it

I have a compaq laptop on which the connector for the ribbon cable from the keyboard is broken. When I say connector, I mean the small plastic piece one pulls to remove the cable.

Can I fix it easily by obtaining something similar from another old laptop?

Is the motherboard replacement only the alternative?

Is there another alternate solution to the above problem?

I, really, really, appreciate a response.

probaly the only real fix is a new mobo... You can try some super glue.
