AOpen AX6BC Pro - how fast can it go?
I'm considering buying back an old AOpen AX6BC pro based machine that I built for my cousin last year (I loved that machine but had to sell it due to financial reasons - I miss it and want it back).
It overclocked my 400 Celeron to 540 ( a huge step back in those days) and it's been running a 566 celeron at 700 for the last year in his hands. This is obviously a very stable board and I want to buy it back as a second machine with the intent of setting it up for multi player games when my friends visit.
I am wondering, what is the upper limit for these boards? I am hoping to throw in a 1GHz Celeron or PIII in it. Can anyone forsee any problems I might have?
These boards run a BX chipset which was a favourite among overclockers back then and should still be very serviceable today.Bill S.

You should be able to install a 1.0GHz P3 CPU. Whatever CPU you get, be SURE you get one designed for 100MHz FSB operation. The BX chipset wasn't designed for 133MHz FSB CPUs.

Thanks for the links and responses. Looks like a 1000Mhz Celeron II will fit in there nicely.
