Hi. actually that board will run ddr 266 and up, including ddr 333.
I'm running mine with corsair xms 3000. in the bios you can change the memory type, so if you want to crank the fsb up, your memory won't get too far ahead. i have a p4 2.4c 800fsb running at 3.3 gig stable (air cooled), with a fsb of 271. my memory is running at around 440.
As for his problem it will say locked unless his cpu is unlocked. in that same screen, change dram frequency to 333 and leave cpu bus at 200. (unless he's overclocking) after reboot it will change the memory speed (ddr clock) to 333.
I noticed a strange glitch on these boards, though. if he's having trouble restarting, and it seems to sit there, after playing in the bios, shut down instead. then when you reboot you can go back into the bios and do more adjustments. when i was overclocking i noticed this to be a problem. ( even on another system with the same board). good luck |
