Radeon 9800 and A7N8X compatibility issue

Hi, I have a a problem with my radeon 9800 pro and my motherboard. What happens is that I lose a lot of frames for no reason at all when i have my onboard sound activated with my games. Here are my system specs. If anyone has this similar issue, I'd appreciate any help or advice you could offer me. Also, I was wondering if this is happening because I need to upgrade something....although I think what I have is fine. THx

Here are my system specs...........

Athlon XP 2000
512mb DDR PC2100 (Dual DDR)
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro Atlantis (256mb)
Antec 550 watt power supply
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard

Oh thanks for your reply. I check the cable connector and it's connected directly to a power supply connector...I sent a message to Ubi and ATI about this and Ubi said that it was because Raven Shield has a performance issue with the onboard sound. Unreal II I read just has performance problems period and since Return To Castle Wolfenstein runs fine than I think this is software based. I really wish ATI had an explanation for this, but they said there working on it. I'll just have to wait I guess....last time I buy top of the line video cards....Thanks again for you input.
