    Question Shuttle brand mobos dependable?

Hi guys, I know Shuttle makes some really low cost motherboards, and I was wondering if anyone has had any really bad experiences with them vs. other more expensive boards.

Hey, no one ever accused me of not being cheap.

I have had nothing but great experiences with their mobos, both in there Mini-PCs and their ATX boards. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I personally have had bad experiences with the,
Ordered the AK39N from MWave. Upon arrival the first motherboard corrupted my RAM sticks like it was going out of style. Luckily they were new too so I could RMA them.

RMA'd the mobo and received the second AK39N. This one had a bad ide controller. I could not get a single OS to install on this board. Not windows or linux.

Decided to RMA that one to MWave for a refund and buy an AK38 from Newegg. This board was also bad. I could isntall things, but the OS would crash about 3-4 times a day minimum (in linux X would just crash for no reason). I was going to RMA this board but I was sick and tired of RMA'ing stuff I went out and bought an A7N8X and everything has been perfect ever since.

That being said, I have also built two other systems using Shuttle AK38's with no problems whatsoever. It just appears that I had a string of bad luck.

I just purchased a Shuttle mini PC...the XPC with the Intel 865 chipset...it's rock solid, stable, and fast. Very happy with my little Shuttle.
