Hi all, Got a specific request for a motherboard. I have a AMD 2500+ (not knowing if it is a barton or not) , 512mb pc333 , and 2 vid cards TnTpro32 AGP and GF4 64mb agp.
I want the mobo to have 2 AGP ports (dual monitors for web design). Good onboard sound, and capabilities for oc'ing.
Basically im new to overclocking and want to have a play , so ease of use and full functionality (no hold backs).. would be nice.
What would you choose?

There is NO dual agp slot mobos AFAIK..
I would suggest the epox 8RGA from newegg for $109 since it has dual onboard VGA ports
Or the Epox 8rda+, i got it and it rocks
Edit, forget my advice, you don't have drr ram =( |

Well, it depends, you could use an advanced graphics card that has dual heads on it (I could find one for you, kinda hard since your in oz land) Use a PCI video card, or use the epox 8rga (Which probably doesn't have good enough graphics to play games)
I would suggest an epox board with an advanced graphics card that had dual heads on it.
If so, what is your price range and how heavily do you play games |

At the moment i have a Asus A7V8X-MX with onboard vid and a AGP port. Someone told me running the onboard and the video card at the same time causes probs and wont work???
Not happy with the KT400 chipset my old a7n266 Mobo was better i thought.. |

I don't think you can run both at the same time, i don't mind via chipsets on other boards (used them for years, never had a problem) but right now the epox board i use has a nvidia nforce chip on it, which has been perfect to me |

I could do the dual head thing... but i dont really want to spend $$$$ on a vid card at the moment.. In price comparison a mobo is cheaper than a decent vid card and i already have 2 cards laying around spare?..
I want the cake...and im gunna eat it too???.. |

Very Little Gaming, All my work is graphics and cad ...
Lots of 3d rendering and so forth. Is the dual port 64mb card the same aas a singele head one. Does it lose any grunt over the dual port..
Still no mobo's with 2 agp ports. |

No motherboard with dual agp ports exist AFAIK, no searches pulled up any if there was some new technology.
If you are doing high end graphic work, then onboard wouldn't be for you. |
