Z-680 Effects
Hi,
Does anyone know what the effects of the Z-680 do ?? (i.e. Direct, Stereo, Stereo x 2, DD Prologic II music, and DDPL II Movie) ??
i'm using analog with a SB Audigy LS sound card..
I find that the Stereo x2 effect produces the strongest bass of all, and the rest are the same... ??

Direct - It doesn't do anything. It reproduces the signal as is from the sound card. The speakers themselves don't do any decoding.
Stereo - Self explanitory
Stereo x2 - Mirros whats coming through the front speakers tot he back speakers. Its a "fake" surround sound for 2 channel audio.
DD Prologic II Music - It tries to guess where sound would be coming from in a 2 channel audio and reproduces it 5.1 surround. Although its not true 5.1 surround.
DD Prologic Movie - Same thing as Music but more tuned for movies

I don't use DD/DTS as its crap. I do straight Direct using Anolog connections from my PC. My Xbox is connected via Fiber Optic. ANd my cable box is connected via digital coaxal.

I might grab some 4 gig sticks tomorrow. TBH, I can't remember what I have just now, but I think it is two by two gig.
