hi
just built a new system which has on board sound (realtek ac97) on my abit ic7g
just wondering if its going to make much difference dissabling on board sound and putting my old sound blaster 5.1 in.
they both have same outputs and inputs, i do a little music production now and then (nothing serious).
thanks

Uh, SB PCI by far...
Edit - my reasons.... It should sound better and have lower CPU usage. |

100% PCI...I went from onboard to my SB, big difference IMHO. Plus, I needed a 5.1 card to get the best out of my Klipsch audio system. |

If it was onboard Soundstorm, I would say go with onboard. But yours isn't, so PCI it is.
