Running downloaded movie problem

Hi,

I have a problem with movies that i have downloaded from Kazaa or Imesh. The download completes fine and the full file is downloaded to my harddrive. I checked the properties and all the codecs required seemed to be installed. But when i run the movie, nothing appears on the screen and there is no sound although the time bar runs along the bottom. If a codec was require then Windows media player normally would ask for it and if the file was a dud then it would not run or have the full download.
Does anyone know why i get a blank screen and no sound while the movie is playing?
Does Anyone know of a possible solution?

I have downloaded many of these type of movies and it's getting a bit irratating now.

Please help.

thank you.

Dabooj.

Maybe its just a defunct movie file. Kazaa is full of those types of files. People purposefully mislabel things so people will download from them or so they can distribute viruses. I've given up on Kazaa because of the incredible amount of junk files out there.

discussing illegal activities, like d/l movies is prohibited on these forums, be careful what you say I suggest you try other players besides winplayer. kazaa is full of crap files like that, make the switch to bittorrent.

Lots of licensed files on there too now, that when you try to play them, any player asks you do you want go to the site to purchase the licenses able to play them.
