Arrow Media Player now having trouble playing most video formats...

    Hey,

Lately, my windows Media Player has been messing up. At first, it would always play my movies as 'green blobs', so I removed the codecs I had installed from the control panel, and now it plays movies SOMEWHAT fine... But if I try to fastforward/rewind, then the video and audio go out of sync, and it becomes unwatchable.

I imagine I'd need to clear out ALL my codecs and perhaps install from fresh. Is this the right approach? If so, how do I go about doing this?

    Windows XP
    Windows Media Player 9
    DirectX 9.0b
    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
    SP1
    All windows updates.

dvdhelp.com previously known as vcdhelp.com either should work. you probably need to add some codecs. what type of files are you trying to view? mpeg, avi?
what? like a blue spider? get it off!
