| Audio/Video out of sync on my DVD Burn
Hey guys... I'm having a really rough time with getting a simple DVD burned.
Here's the short version:
I have a Sony DVR camcorder. I captured some footage (home videos) and played around with them and made a 15 minute home video. I turned the original sound volume down on all the tracks, and added in a soundtrack using 4 different MP3s.
I used Windows Movie Maker 2.1 to edit. At the end, I saved the entire thing to an AVI file on my hard drive.
Then I opened Nero Vision Express 2 and loaded that 15 minute AVI and burned it to a DVD.
Now, when I play it back, the Video gets really choppy often, and the audio is waaaay out of sync.
The actual AVI file saved on my computer plays just fine, with everything in sync. So somehow it is losing some FPS it looks like, when it encodes onto the DVD disc.
I am using 4.7 GB DVD-R discs. I was told that the -R was more compatible than the +R, but have no idea what the differences are.
Can anyone offer any advice on this problem? I would very much appreciate it... |

Still having this problem. I have tried all sorts of things.. including using DVDSanta. Nothing has worked thus far.
Can anyone direct me to a guide, perhaps? With tips and/or a FAQ on audio/video burning? |

Have you fixed this problem? Here is a post I wrote in another forum with some things I tried, but I could still use some help:
I have a 1 hour long project created in Avid that I exported out to my hard drive as DV files- I broke the project into seven 10min. blocks (approx. 2GB each). Then, I imported the files back into my Create DVD project in Nero. The files play in sync throughout the project, but when I finally burn my DVD, the audio and video is out of sync.
Things I Do Know:
===========
1) In the Nero Create DVD project, the audio and video of the imported DV files play syncronized.
2) The DV files play syncronized OUTSIDE of Nero
Things I've tried thus far:
================
Slowed down burn speed to 1X
Written DVD to hard drive then tried to copy files in Nero Recode
Burned a Disc Image to hard drive then tried to burn DVD from image
This hurdle yet remains insurmountable in my DVD authoring experience. Is it Nero? Should I try another software? What gives!?
Please Help!!!!
Thanks. |

Sometimes all the transfering of footage and audio tracks from different programs to different programs. What do you use to edit? I know that adobe premiere pro does that sometimes and u may not even notice. u have to use the drag all tool in that case. Other than that, try taking out all the extra audio tracks you have. |

Hey guys... just an update to my situation.
I have now been creating DVDs successfully.
I currently use Windows Movie Maker to author the vids, and then I use the Roxio Suite that came with my new Plextor DVD-RW drive to burn the disc. One thing I had to do was put the Audio mix into the video inside Roxio. The only reason I ended up doing this is because when Roxio encoded that full mix (Audio + Video) from my AVI file, the audio would get distorted sometimes.
But anyway... basically, my solution was to upgrade my computer. I got an entire new system, and everything works great.
But there is ONE thing that I changed in my new system that I believe is the SOLE fix to my issues from my old system:
I upgraded my video card to a new card that has DVD Encoding built into the hardware.
On my old system, my vid card didn't support this feature, so all the encoding was happening via software. Now, with added hardware support, my system handles it almost flawlessly.
I hope this helps you guys out! ATI has some great new cards with DVD Encoders built in. I use an x700 PCIE now, for the record. (Upgraded from my old 9800 Pro 128) |
