NEC DVD burner wont burn CD's

hi all. ive had this dvd burner for a few weeks. it burns dvd's fine, but every time i try to burn a data cd it goes crazy. i dont know what to make of this error report but here it is anyway:

the burner is a NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A

the weird thing is that it says in device manager that it is a scsi device, but it isnt???

what should i do to fix this? any ideas?

oh yeah, im running winxp sp1 and using nero 6
