Volume Issue

I use my laptop to watch dvds on my tv, using an s-video cable to hook up the video and a seperate cable for the audio (plugs into headphone jack of laptop, red and white of tv). However the volume is really low on the tv, and i have to even turned all the way up is still too soft. Keep in mind, when viewing the tv normally, I use it at 1/3 volume. So its a significant sound reduction. I set the volume on the laptop as high as it can go (using the wheel thing on the base as well as the sound option in the control panel) and from the dvd software. How can I up the sound?
