ATI Tv tuner card and win xp ??

ok, been trying to get this thing to work for about 3 hrs now....

P4 1.7ghz
768 mb ram
Dell Dimension 8100 series PC
ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb
40 gig and 80 gig HD
Win XP Pro SP2
Creative labs Sound card

ATI 109-68300-30 TV WONDER PRO PCI TV TUNER AND VIDEO CAPTURE CARD

ok i downloaded all the driver for this card... 1 of 1, 2 if 2 and 3 of 3 .... installed them in that order also.... still comes up with an error saying the multimedia drivers are not installed... then a microsoft error and closes ..

also have the latest drivers for the 9000pro installed as well...

no onboard vid or sound....

anyone know if there is a compatability problem with this card and win xp, as my dad who wants to use it says it worked perfect with the exact setup but with windows ME or 98 .... not until XP was installed did the problems arrise where now it just won't work...

uninstalled all vid drivers, card drivers etc... reinstalled all the latest...still won't play, says it is missing drivers...

Hey Sweeper2, not sure if this will help you or not but with the AIW cards there are a couple of things that need to be installed before the multimedia drivers.

First you need the Windows Media Encoder 9. Link below:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...r/default.aspx

Second you need DX 9.0c. Link below:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I would also change the installation order. I would install 2,1, and then 3(or driver, DAO, then multimedia center), rebooting after each install.

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=27

Hope this helps getting your dad's pc up and running.

Eidt: I think I would install the DX 9 before the WME 9.

You get that thing working yet? If you can't get it working... tell Dad I'll take it. I want to do some video editing and capturing. Be an early Christmas present.....

Welcome to TechIMO.

You need to be sure that the card you have IS an ATI card before you install any drivers. ATI Retail products will have a “Built by ATI” logo and 100 part number on the retail packaging, as well as a 102 part number on the PC Board. The link below will take you to the ATI site and will help you determine if it is an ATI card. Click on the "How can I determine what my serial number is for my BUILT BY ATI card?" link and see if you can see your card there.

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=32

If it is an ATI card you can get the drivers and software from the ATI website starting from the link below. Choose you Operating system then click on TV Tuners.

Thumbs up
ati tv tuner card 109-68300-30

The 109-68300-30 ati tuner card is a TV WONDER PCI or TV WONDER VE.

Those two take the same drivers by the way.
It has an Antenna in, a yellow comp in jack and an audio out jack.

The only issue I had with xp is that I got the blue screen of death when trying to install the video drivers on my dell. I took the card out of the computer, (which I should have done in the first place) reinstalled the software, put the card in and it works great! So...install all the software FIRST. Then put the card in. (and use the correct software for your card)

The drivers can be found at: www.ati.amd.com/support/drivers
I then clicked professional/home then tv tuner then tv wonder pci

F.Y.I.
The part numbers on my card are:
pn 109-68300-30 <---this one is on the board
sn 160329 001850
pn 1026830130 083273 <---think that one is on the tuner

I really like this card.
Hope this help you.

Okay Buttinski,
I only posted the info to help other people ARE looking for the drivers/software and or info to that card.
What does it matter how old the original post is, if somebody or anybody for that matter, is looking for info about the same card?
I actually searched, found and used the info two days ago! U DONK

Thanks PokerFerret!

Which, in fact, was exceptionally helpful after pulling out a handful of old computers and an assortment of unknown video- and audio-related PCI and AGP cards. Thanks, PokerFerret - I hope you keep helping people like me!
