I got my PC up and working and I have a 5.1 system speakers that are nice.
The onboard supports 7.1. It plays on all speakers on games like HL2, BF2, ...etc
On winamp it plays only on the 3 front. I installed windows media player 10 and it works on t he same songs on all channels. I am going insane and I know that a new sound card wont do because my friend has the same prob and he has a creative he just ordered.
Just another thing that i think is tied into this, My mic is Very low on transmitting sound. the volumes on recording the mic and even reciveing are up. lol
any help would be appriciated.

Go into preferences in WinAmp, and find Output plugins.
Choose DirectSound Output
Choose "Hardware acceleration"
Restart winamp
If that doesnt work, there are some plugins that you can get from winamps site that enable it for 5.1 playback.

Now only one prob.
My mic is all on high in transmit but when i am about 18inches away from the mic and talk like in gameing, the volume is low. when i go close like 4 inches away it is perfect and loud. I know it is not loud enough but it is low when i am far. I really dont want to bend over to talk on the mic in CS:S lol any suggestions ?? |

Go into the program provided by realtek, and not the windows built in valume control, to check for the mic boost. |
