| Good, inexpensive RCA to USB
Hey all, I am looking for an inexpensive RCA in to USB adapter for recording audio.
Something like THIS but a little more affordable.
Anyone have any recommendations? I looked at guitar center online but didn't see much.

if your soundcard has a line in you could pick up an adapter at radio shack or $2 and not have to bother getting an entire external usb sound processor

I just looked at the manual for your SFF mobo. You don't have a line-in on your motherboard but you do have a CD-in. Using a spare CD audio connector and with a little bit of wire splicing you can plug one of your front ports into the CD-in and use the CD-in as the input of your recording application.
OR
You could buy an external USB sound adapter. The Philips Aurilium was being sold on clearance for $20 a while back. They're sold out now on the Philps web page, but you should be able to find some on Ebay. |

hey, now that is an idea
I just checked ebay, I can get one of those sound cards on ebay for dirt cheap.
I suppose what I could do is use a rca to headphone jack cable, and run it into the line-in. My guess is the sound quality would be just as good as running the rca's right into a sound card?

that basically is a soundcard that uses usb instead of pci...i got one of the phillips he mintioned for my laptop but i have not had a chance to try it out yet
another option would be to pick up an internal card with a line in and use that...they can be found for under $10 |

My friend uses the Aurilium with his laptop... it's a terrific way to upgrade the sound capabilities on laptops and other limited expansion, small form factor type PCs. The quality is much higher than laptop or mobo on-board sound as well. |

Creative also has a similar unit for about $48...
