| Plz Advice:IBM Lenovo DVD?!
Hi!
well i bot this new IBM Lenovo Thinkpad R50e series,,, i cud play DVDs which i had, bot priviously,,,but now,,when i bot a new DVD movie,,it dsnt show any DVD in the drive,,when i put it in,,shows empty,,no movie!
however, when i play it on the desktop,,its working fine:::???
whats the problem,,is it the driver,,which i need to update?
or may be an-other region DVD!!!
so,, if its another region DVD,,,how to configure it?
like i am working in Saudi Arabia, how do i find which region the DVD belongs to???casue on the box it says USA,,but they r being copied here or in UAE!
i chekd in the prperties ofthe DVD,,it has an option to select, all list of Regions,,,but i have only 5 chances to choose?
so how do i go ab it?

Please clarify. You said you have been able to view DVD movies on this system previously but it has recently stopped working, i.e., it has stopped reading DVD discs? From what you describe, this is not a region issue, but a drive problem.
Please post the model of the drive. Have you check the Lenovo support site for a firmware update? Have you checked device manager for error codes? |

The region is indicated on the DVD case, or if you have a copy, you'll need a tool like DVD Decryptor to see what the region code is. But be careful. If you are changing it back and forth, it will eventually lock on one region code and it may not be the one you typically watch.
Good luck! |
