Hello everyone,

I was wondering how I can create a DVD and put a folder of pictures on the DVD that people can print from their computers . The pics do not have to be linked anywhere I just want them to be able to right click the dvd and explore to find folder of pics but when I use DVD Santa or Nero they tell me that the folder does not contain movie files. Does anywone know how to accomplish this? I was looking into Adobe Encore because I saw that you are able to link to create links to other format files but I want something simpler.

You should be able to create a data (not movie) CD or DVD containing pictures that anyone could open in Explorer. Unless you have a huge number of pictures, a CD will work just fine.

why not just stick all said pictures into folder on your com then burn that folder to DVD ?

I need this dvd to play in a non computer dvd player also. If I make a data dvd
I don't think it will autoplay in a non computer DVD player. When I try to put the folder of pics in the window of the dvd authoring software it says they are not movie files , as I am trying to create an autoplaying dvd, after it encodes the movie files it wants to burn the dvd immediately- not giving me the option of adding anything else to the burn session.

Welcome to TechIMO digisummo, IMO (in my opinion) Adobe Encore DVD is the best DVD authoring software ive used, although there are some simple one for doing basic dvd's like DVDV Movie Factory or some other stuff that Ulead has. Encore DVD is much more customizable, although it is in ways alot harder to use, it all depends how customized you want to go. Nero also has a new DVD burning program i think its called Showtime or something. Check em out at www.download.com and download the free trials of either Ulead's stuff or Nero's to see if you like it before you buy it
