Hiss
Hey

I am currently using a AC97 Soundcard which is intergrated into my mother board. I am starting to use my computer for audio production and when I record using my Phonic MU502 it has a high 'hissing' sound. Would anyone suggest a sutible sound card for me that doesent have the annoying 'hissing sound' whilist recording
.
Your help would be appreciated !

Audio production sounds like something that requires elite audio gear.

I use this for surround sound and when the time comes for recording voices, it does a great job at it. Awesome sound card for a budget. (I suggest you go to your local Wal-Mart or something if you want to get it now and avoid shipping costs

Nope. No hissing. If there was, I'd probably have a bad microphone/awkward setting somewhere.
There is, however, regardless of the video device, hissing from speakers too. Sometimes when your system volume is low, but your speaker's physical volume is up too high, you'd hear some hissing. Happens with any speaker set I get. (Currently have the Logitech X-530's)
Generally I keep the computer's volume UP and the speaker's physical volume somewhere low, where the sound is clear and loud enough.

Do you think its something to do with the mic? Here are the current specs for it:
Output Impedence: 600ohms +/- 30% at 1KHz
Sensitivity: -63dB +/- 3dB
Frequency Response: 100Hz~13KHz
Directivity: 180degree (average) More than -13dB (at 200Hz-2000Hz)
