    Cutting out of DVD movies

I want to cut about 2 minutes of a certain scene on a DVD. Im not sure where to start. Maybe converting it to an easier editable format like .avi might help? I would like the end result it possibily be an MPEG so I can play it on my phone. Its the first time Im doing and need some guidance and Im not sure what kind of software i will need.

I use gordian knot, but there are other tools available, too.

In other words you want to render a clip from a standard DVD, into a file that can be played on a video phone?.... correct?
First you have to give us a list of the formats that your phone is able to play...
then you would need to rip that section of the DVD to your hard drive unless youve already done so... then you would have to convert it to the format that your phone accepts, then use editing software to "cut" out that clip...

The phone should be able to play MPEG, 3GP and MPEG4. Im not quite sure, sometimes the phone doesnt wasnt play certain formats at time, but I can always convert it.

Okay, Im not sute how im going to rip that section only, I only know how to rip the whole DVD. When you say rip, do you mean to .avi/divx?

I think the only problem i have and the software to but out that clip. I dont know what Im looking for and what features i might need, maybe some enhancing feature too.

That chopper is some excellent software, saves a lot of time.

Im getting some rubbish quality on my phone though, I'll have to play around with the video settings..

Theres one more thing though, you on some video clips, people put an icon to indicate a certain person compiled it and ripped it, how can I do that?
