| Sound Problem: Microphone not working properly
This happended to me a few weeks ago and i've tried MANY things to fix it. I was on ventrilo talking to my friends and my phone rang. I answered the phone and it caused some interference with my speakers. (dunno if this somehow fried anything) When I put my headset back on to talk to my friends again they couldn't hear me.
I've been through every setting possible.. and I mean everything. I also bought a new Sound Blaster Audigy soundcard. I've tried many different headsets. This has not fixed the problem. I went to my CMOS setup or w/e it is when you start your computer and under SOYO Combo Feature, I disabled AC97 Audio. I thought that disabled any sound from the motherboard, but I think i'm wrong.
So... this is what the problem is. Normally, you know, when you unmute microphone for playback in your volume control panel you'll hear what you are saying into the mic. When I unmute microphone I hear a buzzing sound. The buzzing sound differs slightly with different activities I perform on the computer, such as looking at a website, moving the mouse, or playing a game. This leads me to think all sound isn't disabled from my motherboard. Do I need to change any pins around on the MB? I have a soyo motherboard and i'm not completely sure what model it is.
I'm really out of ideas.. this has been frustrating me for weeks now and i'v e spent hours and hours working on it. Any help will be much appreciated and I look foward to hearing from someone . |
