    creative audigy LS crackling

Always something, HDD crashed was thinking about restoring OS on my AMD2.0 but would be faster to just stick with my backup. Crazy enough the frames seem to be about the same from a AMD2.0 clock 1666 to a P4 2.4 clocking 2.4, would think it would show some improvement even with the same vidcard.

Took most my hardware out of my Amd and moved it into the p4. Sound worked just fine before even with the old drivers. Now it's crackling, turned down low or turned up. I have bostons and some other brand speakers plugged into that card and both make the sound. Updated from the website and didn't fix the problem.

    Sound blaster live 24-bit
    Creative
    drivers date: 7/12/2005
    drviers version: 5.12.1.512

I use this card as my output and use SIS 7012 for input(mic) not sure if that will help in any way.

Any ideas, if you need anymore spec plz let me know.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Don't buy Amd case stickers buy cyrix instead. If anyone brakes into your home your Amd will be gone, unless you have your very own cyrix stick-on

What motherboard do you have? Make sure you update your motherboard's chipset drivers. Also update your video card drivers. This is critical. Crackling can be caused by cards not sharing the PCI bus nicely, so the sound card's buffer runs out and you get a break in the sound.

If that doesn't fix it, try reducing the PCI Latency setting in the BIOS, if available.

    Motherboard ID 08/19/2003 SiS 648FX 6A7I0E19C-00
    Motherboard Name ECS 648FX-A

The output I'm using isn't onboard, the onboard I'm using for mic. The card with the problem is PCI card, so wouldn't think the chipset would be the problem. Vidcard is updated, couldn't find any settings in the bios for the PCI latency.
    Hope this might help
audio sample if you can hear the cracking I don't know.. http://media.putfile.com/audio-82-57

MP3s and movie videos seem to play just fine without any sound problems also.

The latency for the video card is quite high, which may be responsible for the crackling audio in games.

First verify that you have installed the latest SIS AGP GART drivers (www.sis.com)

If that doesn't work, then you can try this utility: http://www.overclockers.com/articles538/
