Problems with DVD drive!

Hi

I have some problems with my DVD drive. It was working ok few days back and device manager shows that everything is ok but the problem is that when I insert the disc in the drive, the data doesn't show. It spins the cd but doesn't read the data that is on the disc. Is the drive screwed or can there be any other thing that could be wrong?

There is alaso another thing. I downloaded one game, tried to install it and mounted the cue file to begin the installation. And guess what. It didn't work. Guess it's also the virtual dvd drive that is dead. Is this the effect of the main DVD drive beeing dead or is there a settings problem?
