Copyrighted cd - Can you burn a copy?
I wanted to burn a backup copy of my kid's Sims game but when I go to burn a copy it says the cd is copyrighted and then just sits there saying "reading cd" but never does anything. I am using Nero 5. Is it impossible to burn a copyrighted cd?

Yes, my copy of Nero would then ask if I wanted to continue.

Check out ClonyCD too, it will determine the type of protection and transfer the results to Clone CD, just to stop too many coasters.

Ok... ok...
If you need to make a backup copy of a CD, you can use CloneCD, Nero or Alcohol 120.
Different discs, especially game software have advanced copy-protection. If you are serious about back-up copies upgrade from Nero 5 to Nero 6 or 7.
But I'd certainly try the trial of Alcohol 120.New Dad since 07/06/2005

Hi New dad!

Can you make a back up of your DVDs too?
I tried with Nero and it said i couldn't because it was copyrighted
or maybe I was doing it wrong?"Sometimes life is just what we make it."

You have to get something like this
Certainly you can find programs, that are no longer being sold, that will make copies of DVDs, also.New Dad since 07/06/2005
