Is it possible to record Music that is played on a website? If so How?
For example some sites play music when you are visiting them , Im wondering if its possible to grab the music played.

yeah i need a progam like that too, something tht can record really good quality
one way to do it is just take a mini-rca cable and run it from your speaker out to speaker in on your motherboard/soundcard. Then you can simply use windows sound recorder or any other freeware program to capture the music.
If you are using Firefox there are multiple add-ons that can be installed that let you snag media from websites, but their results will greatly depend on how the media is coded into the website (i.e. if it is embedded within a java app, it probably wont be seen as a downloadable media source by the add-on).
You can use audioacity to record anything thats going on with the comp.

Just install it and hit the record button (should default to "What You Hear"). Its a pretty simple program to use. Good editing program for starting off to!

Audacity has the capability for quality much higher than anything you will be listening to online. One word of caution, though. Turn off your IM programs (or at least their noises) because it captures all sound that goes through your sound card. This is a great way of getting sounds that are embedded and otherwise unobtainable. The downside is it is merely recording them in real time. An add-on like I mentioned earlier has its drawbacks, but for the media it can access, it will download the file as fast as your internet will allow it.

Depending on yer OS, you have to set the Audio Properties to record from 'What You Hear'

Maybe he is talking about making sure that the speaker output is being viewed by Audacity as the recorder's input?

Thats what I was thinking too, but yeah, its worded so it doesn't really sound right (no pun intended).
Just a quick post. I *think* RealPlayer gold does this, it records video too.
GoldWave will also work.
Whatever program you use, Audacity, Goldwave, etc you first have to have the correct setting on the RECORD mixer. A lot of people don't know about the record mixer in their computer. They only see the playback mixer.
To get to the record mixer in XP first double click the speaker icon. Then options, then recording, then put a check mark in each of the options in the window that says "Show the following volume controls, then hit OK.
You will now see the record mixer. You need to select either the channel called "stereo mix", or a channel called "What you hear", or something like one of those. Bring up it's volume a little. Now you can record using any audio program. Audacity is my pick.
I didn't have a "what you hear" option in the record mixer until I installed the software and drivers for an add-on soundblaster card. The basic windows drivers and control panel for the mobo's on board audio had no such option available.
