sony vaio sound. Please help!!

I bought a used vaio from a friend and I reformatted the disk and installed winXP(no drivers or recovery disks were included in purchase).Everything is fine except that I cant get the SOUND to work.I have been to the sony website and downloaded the drivers for my model but still nothing.I even installed another sound card and cant get anything out of that one as well.I dont no what else to do.

model is PCV-RS220
XP os

Please help
