Hi
I have Asus K8S/MX motherboard. The official software audio driver that came on the CD with the motherboard is Soundmax audio driver. I was using that one on Windows XP. Few days ago I tried and installed Vista. Vista automatically installed other audio driver on my PC. It was Realtek AC97 audio. The sound was much better with the Realtek audio driver. I will go back to XP because Vista is too slow for me. My question is> Can I also use Realtek audio driver with my XP! I tried to install Realtek driver but got the blue screen of death on XP. Can it be done or not
Thanx |

The sound chip on your motherboard is manufactured by Analog Devices. I'm not sure why Vista installed Realtek drivers.
You could try going into device manager, right clicking your audio device, select update drivers and then point it to the folder containing the Realtek drivers you just unzipped. |
