I noticed that my speaker plug was a little off center ( the one going into my computer) so I unplugged it and put it back in; then my speakers stopped working. Help.

I know this sounds silly but check and make sure its plugged into the right port. Hey i have done that myself. If you good there go into device manager and go into sound and take a look at media control devices to see if all is good there. |

I tried that. When I plugged it in to the slot I have it in right now the speakers make a static-like noise, also when I adjust their volume. |

Are you using xp or vista? Also really need to know if your using onboard audio or sound card. If your using sound card more than likely your ports for the sound card will be more towards the bottom of the pc on the back.

Go to control panel in start menu. Click on sounds, speech and audio devices. Click on sounds, and devices click on the audio tab it will tell you there what kind of audio your using. |
