He was told by customer support that he would have to RMA it back to someplace at HIS expense. Then they would have their techs inspect it for problems before they would send and replacement back to him. . He was told that they were having quality control issues with this phone. So, maybe the second phone will also have problems then we dish out more shipping costs. But, the video quality was OK at best. At times it was so bad we stopped talking. Plus the word/mouth snyc. was up to 15 seconds off after talking for about 10 to 15 minutes. Usually it was 2 or 3 seconds off on average. Bearable? I spent at least 2 hours total time trying to get someone from tech support to help. This was after repeated calls. One person out of two tried to help. We went through all the different settings to get better results to no avail. The longer you talk the worse things would get as far as quality video and audio goes. Today I called customer service in order to revoke our service. It will cost $199.00 to get out of a 2 year contract. We had 3 days from the day it shipped. It took 4 days (we were not home for 2 of the days because we had to sign for them) to get the phones. We would have had someone here to sign for them if they had told us someone needed to sign for them. It took 3 more days to get them activated because they had to go through our local phone Co. We had to wait until Monday because we called them on Friday to activate it. We wanted our old phone number. That was totally a messed up way to deal with a customer. I know one thing for certain. I will talk everybody I can out of using this service. I have seen better video from a good logitech PC eye cam. And there are free services out there that may have better audio sync. I thought Skyp was mediocre, but at least the audio sync was OK. I hope this helps you to make a decision. I am sure there are many others out there that are happy with their service with ACN, just not our family. Good luck. |
