Kodak Z730 SD card error.

I personally am not into the whole camera thing, but my folks are. They have a Kodak Z730 and although it is a few years old they have taken great care of it. now when reading directly from the SD card (brand new one too) into the laptop the are getting a file corruption error, always on the second picture. however if you read it via USB cable from the camera it works fine... Have tried two usb plug-in SD card readers as well as the built-in SD reader all have the same trouble. could it be a driver issue on the laptop? anyone else ever have this issue? and no i have yet to try it on another computer since I am at their place and the laptop is all they have (will try in a few days when I get home) but in the mean time I was hoping someone else may have had the same troubles and has a solution.

It must be the way the SD card is formatted. After saving the pictures, I would format the card in the PC. Just right click the card reader under "My Computer".
