Trouble with my DVR picture quality.
I've owned my Scientific Atlanta DVR (model is the Explorer 8300HD) for a little over a year. Recently everytime I record a show and watch it later the picture quality is terrible. It seems like it's recording at a low resolution. The picture appears very pixelated.
When I'm watching live TV, and I rewind or pause the show, the same thing happens. I don't understand it.

Try re-seating the connections for the device. Also, if you can defrag the HD, do it.
