| Help ID this USB - RCA/USB cable
I have come into possession of what appears to be a video to computer cable.
On one end is a standard USB type A connector, but on the other end are the following:
1 - RCA Video (yellow)
1 - RCA Sound (white)
and one very small USB-type connector.
I suspect that it might be either proprietary, as I understand Kodak and Sony have proprietary video camera to computer connectors, or it might be a micro. It is definitely not a Micro-8 connector. I am attaching image files to assist you.
This top image is not of the cable in question, but from a USB page and has an image of what appears to be similar to the USB cable connector I am asking about.
This image is of the cable itself.
The smaller of the two connectors is what is at the end of the cable in question. The larger of the two in the images which follow is a mini connector, but used for size and configuration comparison.
It's really a two-part question.
First, if this is a standard USB connector, what is the accepted name / nomenclature of the smaller of the two USB connectors?
Second, can you identify which device such a cable is intended for (e.g. make and model)
Thanks in advance.
KJ

looks like a Mini or Ultra Mini USB to RCA Cable to me say something like this Second, can you identify which device such a cable is intended for (e.g. make and model)
Uh IDK I'd assume it would be for just about any video device that has an ultra mini usb connection
edit: for exact names wikipedia says Mini-A, Mini-B or Micro-A, and Micro-B connectors

Yeah they'd be used for cell phones, digital cameras ect ect. Basically anything with the micro usb connections that can display video or images.
And kopfjaeger you must not spend much time on Google because dang man I found it in under a min or two. |

Hello Rich,
I do believe that is it. I managed to locate a close-up of a Micro-USB connector:
That image matches the connector on the cable in question, however, I have also seen different designs for connectors designated Micro. Naturally, I am taking into account Micro-A and Micro-B. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../USB_micro.jpg
Thanks for your help. |

Yes, well have you established exactly what the name of that connector is?
You stated Mini or Ultra mini. As I've noted there are Mini-A and Mini-B. As there are variations I am still trying to match the exact name with the image I have provided. While I appreciate what help you have given, how can you be critical when you haven't answered the question definitively? |

Okay, found the matching designations that go with the top most photos of various USB connectors, they are in order from Left to Right:
8-pin AGOX[citation needed]
• Mini-B plug
• Type B plug
• Type A receptacle
• Type A plug |
