| My Microphone (HELP ASAP) So,
I have been sitting here and wondering what I could have done,
I have been trying to get help from other forums but I see that many people are just ignoreing it so I tried to get help here now.
Well many of you probally know what Ventrilo is,
Anyways I tried following a tutorial how to fix so you can play music over ventrilo aka Ventrilo Music Bot, So it didn't realy work the tutorial so I started to change alittle in the volume controller I belive and now the microphone stoped working on my computer. I tried opening Team Speak to see if I did something with Ventrilo Settings but it didn't work on Team Speak neither, Then I tried to use it on my sisters computer and it worked perfectly.
So, do you guys got any ideas how to fix this problem? I mean, maybe a way to set the volume settings to default settings?
I realy need my microphone to work as soon as possible,
If you got an Paypal account I can send you alittle reward if you manage to help me out, I realy need my microphone to work and I got no time to set my computer to default settings when I bought it, becuse then I need to reinstall all games etc I have and it would takes days wich I can't wait.
Thanks,
Sammy Osborn.
EDIT*
I was sitting here and thinking, this might be the wrong section of the Forums to post this. I am new on techimo.com and I realy got no idea where to ask this, I thought this was the right section. |

Hi and welcome.
I have had many problems with microphone's in the past where they decide not to work.
I would uninstall this 'ventrilo' (I have no idea what it is). Shut down, insert mic and boot back up and check your audio settings.
What OS are you using?
I know this may be a little obvious but does it have a mute button on the actual mic?
I believe this is the apropriate section, if not a mod will move it.

Ventrilo is a voice program many gamers use, especially Counter Strike gamers anyways, my OS is Windows XP.
It's nothing wrong with my Ventrilo settings, since my microphone wont work on Teamspeak neither and It works on my sisters computer.
It's something with my computer settings (Volume Settings) wich I have no damn clue what I have done.
Do you know if I maybe have to re-install my drivers?
I am not so in for computer and drivers and shit,
I mostly use my computer to play and have fun.
EDIT'
There's no mute button or on button on the microphone itself,
If I want to mute my microphone I have to do it thru Volume Settings I belive. |

The reason I say to uninstal, as it was working fine before this. It might be conflicting. If it does'nt change anything atleast you will have ruled that out.
I gather the mic is detected, its just not recieving voice input....
I cant remember if xp had a 'restore default' in the sound options....
You can give re-installing drivers a go, but I would uninstal that other program first.

Well, do you know where the "Restore Default" is located? |
