On 7-7-09 the new VLC media player v1.0.0 was published.

Excellent. I've solved many, many DVD playback problems by recommending VLC.

Yup, VLC seems to play my DVDs better than the others I had (Power DVD OEM, Nero, etc.) and handles other media files well tool. It's too bad I just went thru the process of installing the last RC for Linux just before the gold version of VLC came out. Oh, well... (sigh)
