Hi, Mach:

Welcome to techIMO.

I assume you're using an analog input from your mini disc player. Do you hear stereo when you listen to the input?

Sometimes the waveforms look similar but they're actually not.

transferring mini discs to cd-rs

hi,this is my set up,i have connected a m/d to a stereo player with a phono plug. then connected a 1/4 inch phono jack to a usb interface connected to my computer, because i have no line in socket only a head phone and mic socket,as i am told the mic socket is only mono.that is why i am using the adapter.i have been informed by another member that yes the wave forms are close and i shoud try zooming in on the wave forms,i havn,t tried this yet.thanks for information
