Where did you get the drivers you are trying to install, and are you sure they area actually the correct driver? Because it sounds to me like you are trying to use the wrong one. Toshiba has the drivers on their site Model Content Page - Satellite L15-S104

If you have the right drivers, like Rich suggested, they will install.
I have never seen the correct drivers not install eventually. Only reference drivers, have completely failed me.
The last time I had a problem with sound drivers was a couple of weeks ago with 1 dell out of 12.
Sound drivers can be a pain if the installation fails.
By uninstalling and removing everything I could in device manager, and reinstalling the drivers several times it finally worked.
Sometimes removing the card and rebooting, then installing it again. ( turn it off in the BIOS for on board)
The bottom line though is that of maybe 200 sound drivers that I have installed, the correct factory drivers have never failed me.
The maybe 2 dozen problem installations always turned out to be a failed installation that was eventually fixed by repeated uninstalls and reinstalls.
Most sound drivers have their own install program, but require a restart, at which point windows seems to take over. This is when the problem happens.
If windows does pick it up, several sound devices all get installed automatically.
I'm not sure why, but from experience, if you try it over and over after uninstalling as much as possible, it will work eventually.
Check Add and Remove programs also.

Yes, I have the correct driver. I used toshiba's site. I cant exactly mess the sound up more. So I'll remove all the sound related drivers. As for removing the card. This is a laptop that uses on-board sound. I cant do that? Unless that was just for future reference |

Hi Zack... with all the mucking around, have you tried a System Restore?
