Front panel audio jack only plays sound in one speaker

The audio jack only produces sound through one speaker when the jack is fully inserted. If I "wiggle" the jack in a little at a time, I can get both speakers to play, but in poor quality. Any help to remedy this so I can get it back to playing sound in both speakers would be great! Thanks

The audio works great on the back panel. I use it for my speakers and I use the front panel for a headset. I could always get a splitter but if it's possible, I would really like to use the front panel due to the length on the cord I have to work with.

Front panel jacks are prone to this sort of thing from different plugs being inserted and removed. I generally recommend not using them for this reason. My preference is to always use the jacks in the sound card, with stereo mini extension near my monitor for the headphones.

If cord length is an issue, the extensions are like $5, certainly cheaper than wearing out the jacks on your computer.
