Could you be a bit more specific here? Subs hooked up to what? Home audio? Computer? Automobile?

Describe the setup in detail as well. Head unit -> RCA -> Amp -> Sub for example.

Please pretend you're writting on the internet and that no one can see your setup.

Provide as must Detailed information as possible.

Example - tell us ->what did you plug you subs into?

Hey, for all we know, the dude's got it hooked up straight to a stereo amplifier. Hence the specifics we requested.

And unless it's a heavy surround competition-class driver, it will have no problem producing frequencies up to and above human speech. I've seen a 12" Kicker used as a PA monitor speaker in an emergency. It actually worked really well. This leads me to assume that he's got it on a filtered amplifier and doesn't have working left and rights for whatever reason.

This happened to me the first time I got a sub setup for my truck, I bought and installed all the stuff myself, the amp was too weak (nobody told me to get one with a higher rating than the sub, especially if you're buying a crap one, also nobody told me Jensen was crap amp) basically I didn't study up on it enough. I don't know what your particular problem is, but I turned my gain down and it mostly took care of it. Every once in a while, I would have to shut everything off and back on for some reason, I probably had something hooked up improperly. Tell us what your setup is, and how you have everything wired.
