I dont see why the music industry cares so much what goes on ONLINE!!

DIGITAL AUDIO (IMO) DOES NOT SOUND ANYWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL IN ANALOGUE!! (It cant possibly)

ALL THEY ARE CONCEREND ABOUT IS $$$ AND THEY SHOULDNT BE!! (UNLESS THE ACTUAL VINYL WAS BEING PASSED AROUND,THEN THEY WOULD HAVE A LEGIT REASON!)

If someone really likes something,THEY ARE GONNA GO OUT AND BUY IT!! (Online quality of everything audio IS NOWHERE NEAR THE ORIGINAL QUALITY,so why do they care so much!!)

In regards to the "It cant (sic) possibly" comment, I suppose you have not encountered lossless digital audio formats.

Even on the lossy side of digital audio compression, if you can clearly ascertain the difference between a modern lossy format at a high bitrate like AAC@256Kbps versus the original source, then you should be knocking down six digits a year as an audio analyst for Fraunhofer or similar.

As to digital audio as a whole, I suppose you should also notify most every modern recording studio to toss out their equipment and overhaul their processes, as most commercially produced music these days tend to be digital from initial capturing to intermediate processing to distribution mastering, regardless of whatever transport medium delivers the content to the end user: vinyl, CD, MP3, FM, satellite, etc.

I do agree with the OP, why waste time downloading at 128kb, when you can just buy the real deal for $10, and make your own MP3s [mine BTW are all 160kb]. However, why cant I burn my friends a copy of an album ripped to WAVs? or FLAC?same quality, but saves $$$.

And what equipment are you using that you can tell the difference, if you don't mind my asking?

No reason that I can think of.
