    No sound (Help please!)

Hey all, I have been trying for a month now to get sound from my computer, scoured the Interwebz and tried different solutions without luck.

Sound stopped working after I upgraded from Windows 7 RC to Windows 7 Ultimate.

Couldn't get Soundblaster Live! to work.
Ripped the soundcard out of the PC in frustration today, hoping that with the card removed, the Soundmax Integrated Audio Driver would feel like the only king on the hill and thus provide me with sound.

    Alas!

Everything seems to be in order; the speakers are the main source, and when I play a tune in, say, WinAmp, the mixer shows sound being produced.

I have moved the minijack of my speakers to the front of the PC (since I don't have the Soundblaster in the computer anymore) in the headphones input.

I have an elderly Dell 8300 Dimension.

    Edit:
Lol I see that it has been a while since I've been on this board, when I noticed my sig.
I have the same comp but upgraded to 2GB RAM and obviously I have Windows 7 Ultimate now.

When you installed the drivers, were there any errors? Any question marks in device manager?

Nope, says everything works fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled too. When I try to update manually I just get a message saying that the current drivers are .. current. No question marks in device manager.
    Simply no sound..

Dude, I love you forever and ever
Checking the back of my computer there was indeed a panel hiding sound out for integrated card.
Never seen it, had this machine for five years LOL
