Laptop without HDMI, TV with HDMI
Hello, I hope you are well.
My friend has a television with HDMI and VGA sockets, but her laptop only has an S-video socket. What's the cheapest and easiest way for her to play videos from her laptop and watch it on her television? I'm a complete newbie when it comes to HDMI stuff.
Thank you,
Victor

What brand is the laptop?
Never heard of a laptop that has only s-video on it.

Not sure, but I can ask her.
However, I just wanted to know that she would like to watch the videos and movies that are playing on her laptop in HD quality on the television, so I am not sure if even VGA and S-video will work for that. I'm starting to think she'll have to spend at least $50 to nearly $100 just to watch it in HD quality. Can someone confirm this? Thanks.

Also ask about the TV model #. I find it odd only having HDMI & VGA.
I've used an S-video cable & mini-jack to stereo RCA (for audio) to connect my notebook to the TV. The picture quality is pretty nice.
There are VGA to S-video adaptors if you find the TV doesn't have a S-video input. What computer do you have? And please don't say a white one. - Sheldon Cooper
