CD drive has volume control, how do I use it ?

    Hi,

I've no idea if this is in the right part of the forum or even if it has been asked before. I have a Sony CD/DVD drive and on the front is a small volume control thing which would be really useful for me to have on my computer =] However I haven't got a clue how to make it work, is there supposed to a way of connecting it to the mother board other than the usual ATA plug ?

I should probably point out that the DVD drive works absolutely fine as a DVD drive.

    Thanks.

The volume control on optical drives is for the headphone jack that is also on the front, not for the volume for the entire pc.
