Movie editor
hi,
I see all these videos all over the net... all very slick
full of clips, stills etc then music or voice over.
Its a great way of getting your point of view accross
or putting your spin on events .
Id like to get in on the game, is there a movie editor out
there ( pref free ) that I could cut my teeth on ?

I think Ospery is hinting that if you spend a few mins on Google you'll find a few alternatives. The only problem is that you need to weed through the good ones and the spam. IMO Windows live movie maker is free and its does a pretty decent job for most things.

YOU RE prob talking about the movie maker slide show ?
Ive got that but it just wont import jpeg pics
I ve tried everything but I just cant get the slide show to work,
the movie side works ok I can import a video signal and make movie clips
etc.
Pity the movie maker is nt stand alone I could delete it and re download it
but it is bundled in with a lot of other windows stuff so I cant get at it.
Pity theres no one on the forum who can point us to a good movie editor
somewhere on the web .

You have to download the Movie Maker for Vista/7 with the Windows Live Essentials list of programs and apps. Movie maker doesn't come with Windows 7 anymore, like it did with XP.
Windows Live Essentials 2011 - Download free Microsoft programs
it does allow for JPEG's and other stills to be imported with video, as well as adding music, etc.
You can also download 30 day free trials of some of the paid for ones out there and give them a try, Corel VideoStudio X4, Pinnacle Studio 15, Avid Studio, Cyberlink Power Director, etc.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Just got hold of Video pad..... which looks great...
And I "think " Ive got a free version.
I can put jpegs
in there video clips, music and audio
there are great transitions to choose from
it looks great........... but...
I made a movie.... opened up DVD Flick and the movie wont go in
there, so it looks like I cant burn Video Pad movies to disc
I converted it to mpeg 2 but still no joy.
But still it looks to be a great movie/slide show maker
I can share them......... they will play in most players I should think
and of course You Tube etc.
Same with Photostory 3 I could nt get those movies onto disc either.

think I was wrong in stating that I could nt get video pad onto a dvd disc
just looked at my notes and read......
Converted the vid pad slide show to mpeg 2 and put the file in dvd flick and it went in
( it had .mpeg at the end of the file, )
So video pad looks like a great movie / slide show, with great transisions, great pic quality etc
and it will go into dvd disc .... great find !
.

There is a vintage Diaclone Grimlock in the original box on eBay. Diaclone, as in before Transformers G1. Start is $429.
