    new CPU for video editing

    Hi,

Im just starting my adventure with video editing in Sony Vegas. I have a 2,66ghz Core2Duo and I want to upgrade it. Is it better to get a faster dual core or slightly slower quad core for rendering faster? Also, will an extra 2gb of ram help alot?

    Thanks!

From everything I can find, I believe that Vegas does support multi-core rendering. So if that's the case, then a Quad will be faster. (Unless your comparing older quads to newer dual cores)
Also, video encoding can be a RAM hog, so the more RAM you can get the better usually.
