Does JVC camcoder can work with computer?

    Hey

I have JVC Everio MG670 camcoder.
I want to use it as a web cam or a computer cam
It have a HDMI connection and AV.
How can I use the Hdmi to connect it to the computer?
I tried it but the computer doesn't recognized it !
I prefer to use the HDMI so i will not transfer the digital single to anlog single.
    Do i need any driver?

If i canot, can I used the AV for this?
    Do i need a USB\AV cable or?

    Tnx alot
    Roie

I don't think it can be used as a web camera, but if you run a piece of video camera software it should detect the camera when it's plugged in.

Any camera can be used as "webcam" depending on what program you are using and hardware you have.
The actual issue here I'm guessing is the computer has an HDMI out port, not a VIVO or input port. To fix this, you'll have to purchase a video capture card like this for example.
Pricewise, you are better off purchasing an actual web camera.

Another potential issue: Does the camera connect HDMI to HDMI? Or HDMI to USB? If it is via USB, it could just be a driver issue.

ALL miniDV tape based camcorders transfer video using their DV port - not their USB port. Yes, USB is used only for transferring stills off the memory card. Your computer needs a firewire (also known as IEEE1394a) port. They are typically easy to install. No, the manufacturers typically do not include a firewire cable in the box.

I don't know what your rambling on about, the original thread starter made NO mention of Firewire, and even listed their particular camcorder model...

a simple Google search would reveal that their camcorder doesn't even have Firewire, only HDMI and A/V outputs, as well as a USB connection, and a MicroSD card slot

Plus the Camcorder isn't a MiniDV model either, its a Hard drive based unit.
