    Good Gaming Headsets?

I am getting a new laptop for gaming and was wondering if anyone knew of any particular good gaming headsets for PCs that are somewhat around the $50 range, more or less, and preferably on Newegg, TigerDirect, BestBuy or other reputable stores.

    Do you need a mic?

If not, these should be plenty and not use up all the budget -

Amazon.com: Sennheiser HD201 Lightweight Over-Ear Binaural Headphones: Electronics

If you prefer a bit more bass kick -

Amazon.com: Sennheiser HD 202 II Professional Headphones (Black): Electronics

    The HD 202's.

I personally love my pair of HD 202's, and game with them all the time. The bass is really nice when playing games, especially when an explosion hits and it doesnt distort at all, just makes your ears shake

Newegg doesn't seem to carry the hd 202's anymore which is odd, but amazon has them for the same price as the 201's so I'd personally opt for them as they usually cost more.

I was lucky and get them w/ free shipping for 15 bucks from newegg, but that was a few monthes back.

Either way, I highly recommend the 202's. Extremely comfortable, and the sound quality is comparable to many $50 and up headphones, if not surpassing some of them in the 50 dollar range easily.
    Main PC: AMD FX-8350 / 16gb DDR3 1600 / AMD 7970GE 1200mhz Core & 1600mhz Mem / Win7 Pro 64bit
    File Server: AMD Opteron 180 / 3gb DDR400 / Nvidia 6200 / WinXP Home 32bit / Lubuntu 12.10
    Laptop: HP-Compaq nc8430/ Intel CoreDuo T2400 / 2gb DDR2 667/ Ati x1600 / WinXP Pro 32bit

Sorry I did not mention it earlier, but I will need a mic. I will mostly be using them to communicate with my friends while playing Minecraft by using a software like Mumble.

Are there at least any brands that are good for gaming headsets with microphones?

PLANTRONICS GameCom 377 are good. I've had them for maybe 2 years. The sound is really good even though the construction is all plastic.

JVC RX700 is pretty popular, but the prices vary. Check it out.
