Will I notice a difference in sound quality converting an MP3 to AIFF ?

AIFF is a lossless, non-compressed PCM codec similar to a WAV file. You won't lose anything by transcoding to AIFF, but you won't be gaining any quality either. The file will be much larger since it isn't compressed. AIFF is great if you will be loading the file into a editing program, but I don't see the need otherwise. MP3s are much more transportable.
To notice a difference in quality, you would need to do a first-generation recording straight to AIFF.Good job, friend-of-friends!

Thanks for the reply, I didn't think there would be an increase in sound quality. Unlike converting an flac file to Aiff. I guess once an audio file is compressed to MP3 format there's no way to un compress an MP3
