Logitech z560 with dvd
Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum and would appreciate any help.
I own the Logitech z560, which I bought cause of the rave reviews and price. I must add they are a great deal.
Anyway, I play dvd's using Cyberlink's Power Dvd 4.0 on the comp and want to get the best sound possible. My Power Dvd version does not support anything above 2 channel sound, so I use the M3D. If I bought the audio upgrades for Power DVD 4.0 would I be able to utilize it and would this improve the overall sound experience? Various packs are available dolby digital I,II, DTS, and surround headphones etc. $40 for the works and $10-20 for various elements. What would be the best most cost effective quality setup?
Oh, also I use a 6 channel Realtek onboard soundcard that came with my mobo. So I was looking at getting the Hercules Fortissimo III, which comes with Power DVD 4.0 sound pack ( don't know which ones) for $40 also.Last edited by surfing; January 14th, 2003 at 08:43 PM.

I have the mirror version, the exact rival, the other competitor...the Altec Lansing 221.
Altec Lansing 221
Logitech Z350
(or the 5 speaker upgrades)
In my opinion, are the two major competitors for the not-over-500 market.

I would say get the Hercules Fortissimo III, it will have better sound then onboard sound and then you'll also be able to use all your speakers in dvd watching.

I agree, closest I could get to my work was ~9 miles away. :(
